Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) - “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Some of my dreams for this blog are to inspire others to hope again, to dream again, no matter how small they think their dreams are, or whatever situation they may be in. For so long an unrealistic picture has been painted in society where it can be so confusing and discouraging that you feel like why even bother dreaming. You’re supposed to be unique and different, but the same as everyone else. You’re supposed to be quiet and submissive while being mistreated, while you’re accused of causing trouble when you point out mistreatment. If you even have such big dreams, people will crush your spirit quickly before you can even put a period on your thoughts.

Rereading the story of Joseph in Genesis (Genesis 37 - Genesis 48 for a good read), not everyone will be accepting or encouraging of your dreams. You don’t have to tell everyone. Try to get a feel of whether you can trust someone with your dreams if you are telling someone, and make sure you are encouraged and secure in what you are doing should someone try to discourage you.

Why is it important to dream?

Your dreams can propel you and motivate you to take action. You have this idea that seems bigger than yourself that can potentially change your life or the life of someone else. As you’re achieving and taking steps to your dream, you may discover more things along the way like new dreams, interests, or even meeting new people.

If you ignored the resources, manpower, cost, or skill set you may need to reach your dreams, what would they look like? Write all of it down as if it has already happened: You live where you want to live, could drive what you want to drive, buy what you want to buy, or go wherever you want to go.

Keep dreaming. Keep hoping.

Habakkuk 2:3 (NLT) - This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.
